Isn't that the same logic they used when pressing was a hot topic? I can accept that arguement to some degree given that basic pressing is a non issue in my books but we can all agree that trimming is sinster in nature.
And this is exactly the attitude why trimming and full Ewert disclosure should be nipped in the bud now. I'm sure there are people out there who consider trimming a non-issue in their books. And the more that philosophy existing and smolders the closer you'll find the "if they can't detect it it's OK" mantra rolling over to trimming as well...

It already has begun.
No it hasn't. I haven't read anywhere where someone has stated that trimming is okay if it can't be detected. If you have a book checked for trimming repeatedly and no one can find it, then as far as I am concerned it isn't trimmed.
I think pressing is okay because it isn't restoration, regardless if it can be detected or not.
