Russ Cochran complete catalog on ComicArtAds

Hi all! I just scanned and posted another complete catalog to www.comicartads.com

This time I was inspired by Terry Doyle, who posted complete scans of many Russ Cochran auction catalogs here a few years ago. (That was some great reading!) Terry started with catalog #11, I believe. I have posted the first catalog, from 1980. The previous owner of the catalog accurately wrote in the winning bids for each piece. # 11 was the first Art Auction Catalog I subscribed to, so it's nice to see something from the preceding issues.

Interesting note. Lot 46 is a Sweet Adeline tryout strip by Frazetta. They state they think it is the only one know. While incredibly rare, Heritage has one in their upcoming February auction.

Pretty sure Russ offered a different Sweet Adeline tryout in one of the later auction catalogs.

Thanks for the kind comments! Terry, I can see how your catalog posts from a few years ago were a total labor of love. It's interesting to learn about the Frazetta Sweet Adeline strip. Here is the strip in the current Heritage auction:

Okay, I dug out the page with the other Sweet Adeline tryout strip I mentioned. Although no actual title is given, comparison to the Heritage offering makes it fairly conclusive that it's the same character.

This one was offered in Russ Cochran's Comic Art Auction # 15 (October 1983), and sold for $475.

The scan is from the whole catalog page, so you get an Alex Raymond illustration in addition to the Adeline strip.

I reached out to Terry about his previous post but he can't find it either. Does anyone have the link handy for the posting of the RC catalogs mentioned above?
