Too be fair you do have a choice of NFS or FS...if it is something you acquired and love but are willing to part with it you would not logically put it NFS if given a choice.

eBay links, less cool.

The Person was putting prices on his pieces. The Lowry was done by taking the basic CAF gallery so it has features that really shouldn't be there. Next year I hope to have the Lowry revamped for Best of, new features and some that don't apply removed.

I figured that was the case, just cant really blame the guy for doing it when there was the choice.

Thank you as ever for the competition.

Everyone should remember that it is in fact about winning and if you win then you are the best and everything else sucks.

"Why do I buy art? to WIN!"

I still remember this famous quote from the movie "Conan the Barbarian" (1982):

Mongol General: Hao! Dai ye! We won again! This is good, but what is best in life?

Mongol: The open steppe, fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair.

Mongol General: Wrong! Conan! What is best in life?

Conan: Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women. And then win the CAF Lowry Published/Unpublished Covers competition.

Mongol General: That is good! That is good!

I got in 4th in "Other" with the rest of the illustrations with 20 votes...Im honestly shocked since there is so much great stuff and plates in that category. Its an oddly satisfying feeling to get the votes, not gonna lie. What a fun contest.

Wow, surprised my Assassins #1 splash page and Web of Spider-Man #15 page only got one vote, while my Fantastic Four #321 page, with the Hulk vs. Thing, got none (doubly odd, since that was one people thought should be entered).

But my Vampirella by Tex got 3 votes and Cloak & Dagger by Mike Vosburg got the most with 5. Proving that sex still sells, I guess.

I found the other category to be the one with the most competition. lots of great pieces in that category.

Thanks as always to Brian and Bill. Always fun to see everyone's entries. Thanks as well for the votes. Especially cool to see there are other NEXUS fans out there. Look forward to doing this again next year!

Really fun!!! I think this is a great way to appreciate the art and celebrate "the hunt" itself.

I think the best of lists are always an unexpected window into the demographics of the hardcore collectors too. Maybe I am misreading or over-generalizing, but it seems like more often than not Marvel wins and Bronze wins. Which makes sense, no?

And I love how Grell won the sketch category and yet everyone was ragging on him in Comics General this week. Justice is served.

All of those artist topics over there were landmines. Youch. I think the OA posters tend to be a little more respectful and forgiving about differing tastes. Maybe because we interact more with the artists themselves?

I'm always willing to say what work I like, and I'm always willing to say what isn't my cup of tea, but I'm rarely willing to say someone is awful or garbage or what have you.

As close as I got in that thread was stating that I think Liefeld (I know, really going out on a limb by picking an industry darling aren't I?) is one of the laziest high profile artists that I'm aware of.
