1 inch tear on back cover

I'm looking at picking up an old silver age book that has a tear just under an inch on the rear cover. The book itself is overall in the "fine" range and am wondering if the tear will drop the grade. I know a tear in a higher grade would but what is considered acceptable in that grade range?

1 inch tear maxes the grade to around a 7.0 I believe, depending on the rest of the book it could stay fine. You can post scans in the spare a grade forum for more info.

Just looked at the PGM section and gave the book a 4. I could maybe be talked into a 4.5. With that said, in my mind you are losing 0.5 to 1 in grade due to the tear on that book.

I also grade it as a 4.0
