Posted these books in their raw state quite a while ago. Just received it back from CGC today and very pleased with the result. As much as I love these books, I will probably sell it to pay off some other recent purchases.

The origins of the horror genre

There was a more gradual transition to horror than most people realize. Siegal & Shuster had Dr Occult and stories with vampires etc. starting in 1935 and there were numerous mixed genre horror covers/stories in the years that followed.

 

Those two issues (great covers, btw) are part of the further evolution where there is a pure horror cover like Front Page or pure horror cover/title/story preceding even Eerie 1.
