He is going to be at Marvelous NYE in Dallas. Not sure if anyone is doing a private signing, but maybe a facilitator will take books to get signed. Ill be there so I will need one for Stan.

As a reminder, if you're attending shows and taking submissions, please let me know and I will list you so we know who to contact!

 

The list below has creators that have been requested or that generally have a large enough following to be mentioned for the good of everyone.

 

Please check and see if the creator you are looking for is listed!

 

Also, please remember that if a creator you are looking for isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't making appearances. It just means that no one has requested them to be added to the list yet. If you want someone added, just ask! If they are listed with no dates after their name, then they have been requested but have no appearances in the next three months.

 

Why three months? First, it gives 90 days notice, give or take. That is generally enough time to make arrangements to attend a show or get something to someone who is attending. Second, it makes things easier and less confusing. Making appearances at shows is generally a side job for the majority of these people so while Bazooka Joe may have agreed to attend a show nine months from now, he may get behind on his deadlines, get sick, have a falling out with the promoter, develop hodophobia, or any of a million other things and he may have to cancel that appearance. Not all shows list cancellations, the guest just disappears. It seems to happen less frequently during the three month window. Checking the guest lists against this list then checking this list against the guest lists is time consuming.

 

All of the shows listed have a link to their site. If the suspense is too much for you, just start clicking away and see if the creator or entertainer you are looking for is slated to appear at an upcoming show.

 

If you want someone added or know of an appearance, you can either add it here or PM me and I'll get them on the list.

 

Expect ridicule if you ask anything covered here. lol

 

If someone is accepting submissions for shows or mail in signings or whatever, please let me know! Again, I try to keep an eye on things, but I've had some slip by in the past and really don't want to slight anyone. I’m a big fan of a level playing field.

All righty, I managed to get enough free time to do an update during the holiday rush!

 

That being said, I have the sinking feeling that I am missing a facilitator on one of these shows. I have scoured my emails and PMs but for the life of me, I don’t recall which facilitator or which show, so if you’re taking subs and I missed you, please let me know!

 

Fan Expo Dallas and Toronto Comic Con are still lacking in guests. Dallas has Tim Curry….and no one else. I think Toronto has last year’s guests up as the top of the page reads “Guest announcements for our March 2017 show coming soon!” followed by a long guest list.

It's generally ticketed, but all that is up to whomever is running the Autograph Hall.

 

Reed hasn't published that information (and I haven't seen any announcement from Lucasfilm), but the rumor is that's going to be Topps, based on the new photo deal.

 

In fact, I'm curious about who told you that Mark Hamill will even be there signing? No autograph guests have been announced on the website yet, and a Mark Hamill signing, though more commonplace in recent years, is still far from a given.

When OfficialPix did it, which is what everyone's domestic experience will be (as no other company ran the Autograph Hall at a domestic SWC until this year), they sold the tickets online and at the show and ran the booth by calling ticket number ranges (in order sold).

 

This meant that, in theory, you could buy a ticket and get in the line that same day.

 

As many found out who tried that, though, in practice any tickets bought at the show on the first day wouldn't generally get you in the line until the last day or two, assuming they didn't sell out by then.

 

But, again, that was how OP handled it.

 

It'll be up to whomever's in charge this time around to decide if they want to do it that way or some other way. As I mentioned, rumor is that it's going to be Topps, but that's only a rumor at this point. Reed is historically very hands-off regarding that element.

 

Things for Celebration, domestically & abroad, generally don't get majorly rolling until a month or two out. It frustrates a lot of collectors by making them buy tickets without really knowing what to expect, but that's how Lucasfilm has historically handled it.

 

(I keep reiterating "historically" because I want to make very clear that, at this point, nobody knows what's going to happen with future Autograph Halls--all we know is the past, which very well may change.)
