Non-Four Color Dells
4 4

516 posts in this topic

I'll refrain from including books that could fit into other threads beyond Four Color, we already have decent Looney Tunes, Duck, and Walt Kelly Threads that cover those topics fairly well.

So, here's one of the 3 Animal Comics without Kelly art- and one of the nicest GA books I own:

with today Sept 24 being international Rabbit Day, it is with great restraint I will keep from posting LTMM lol as othereric has pointed out, it has its own thread now. So this gem will have to do. Robot Man posted a nice Comedy Comics 18 with Super Rabbit in another thread today so all in all nice 'other' Wabbits! :applause:

Well, in honor of International Rabbit Day, I just reposted my Comedy Comics 22 over in the Timely thread. I actually got it at the exact same time as the Animal #4. I think there were about 70-80 books in the lot, and as far as I know my LCS owner was planning on sending the rest to be graded; I just snagged those two before he sent them off.

:applause: I see your sig line is down to 1 Silver needed. I thought there were two just yesterday?

I'd rather you post your higher grade copies than having to see mine

Thanks and you're welcome Saggi.

Scrooge, these boards would be a boring place if only high grade copies of comics were shown. I enjoy seeing the "well loved ones".

I found a #12 and am down to the last one. I'm usually not such a stickler on the grades but the first 7 or 8 I bought of this run were all high grade so I thought I'd keep it consistent.

Here's another book I haven't looked at in years, Adventures of Mighty Mouse 162. This book's license seemed to pop around from publisher to publisher like a jack rabbit. Bet there is a story there. I was amused by the giant cheese wheel of death panel inside so I took a photo of that too.

So before I head back to the comic closet in search of part 2 of the miscellaneous collection I thought it would be fun to share some images of the home of Western's editorial office.

About ten years ago I found myself driving north out of Chicago towards Milwaukee and detoured over to Racine in search of any remnants of Western Publishing. It was looking to be a fruitless search until I spotted an old postman who quickly told me where to go (and not where you think.)

Like a Mecca to the Western Publishing devotee I felt my pilgrimage was complete and snapped these photos.

Wow, I haven't started a thread in years ... but though we have a nice long Four Color thread, we have no Dell dedicated thread and that's a shame

Oh yeah! I love those Dells, other than the photo cover tie-ins to movies and TV shows....

Here are a couple of Indian Chiefs I picked up at the recent Baltimore Con.

Here are scans of my own Indian Chief comics:

I'll have to dig around the old boxes today to see what I can find. I've been a Dell collector since I first spotted that square logo!

Anyone have any Turoks?

I have a few:
