Love that Operation Peril issue AtlasFan! It looks like a precursor to DC's dinosaur run on Star Spangled War Stories. Dinos vs GI's is always a win.

All I'm seeing is Raggedy sliding down the pumpkin like a slide - the puppy may be thinking the pumpkin head is real and is fixing to paw at it - and Andy is reassuring the puppy that the pumpkin head is friendly.

Great book which is tough in any grade.

what's with the fez on the dog's head? is that political commentary of some sort, for the time? it's a very unusual image

I simply assume it's meant to look like a vintage Halloween decoration / mask / hat like this one currently on eBay. So, the hat with the carved pumpkin makes total sense to me. The Star and Moon simply lent it a mystical sense -

I have a suspicion that the next nice copy of that book that shows up for auction is going to be really run up.

In general, I like the T-Man covers but somehow this one stands above the others -
