These were not easy for me to find on the newsstand...I always enjoyed it

when I did find one.

As far as I can remember, until I found this one the newsstand, there had never been

any stories about the creative origin of a comic book Superhero and the artist who drew

the strip.

[…]And, there were also the popular Corner Stores that always seemed to

carry MARVEL/TIMELY titles along with FICTION HOUSE comics...these were the stores

with "penny cigarettes"...Pinball Machines and "young guys" hanging out.

What were the "penny cigarettes" and the "young guys" (put between quotation marks)? lol

"Penny cigarettes" were loose cigarettes sold for a penny apiece to anyone with a penny...

and the "young guys" were guys between late teens and early twenty's with nothing to do

but hang around and play the pinball machine.

While going through my ROCKET KELLY #1 I ran across ILLUSO by Betty Burrows...

I don't remember seeing any other stories by her.

@Marty: Thanks for the explanation! lol

Beautiful Skyman #2, BB! :)

I just have The Face #2 in nice condition, and very happy about it. Gorgeous characters, both Skyman and the Face.

Sorry, I must have posted a scan from the Digital Museum or one I picked up on the boards. I have three copies of that cover but they don't match the one I posted a few days ago.
