Took the dog up Blencathra the other week when it was really hot, he cooled himself off in Scales tarn.

With the mention of tarns, this would be somewhere in the Lake District?

Yes Paul, Northern fells in the Lake District. Half way up Blencathra is Scales tarn, here is a photo of it from Sharp edge.

Bugger. It's the next best thing this year to NYCC for me. I got a 4-day pass for my bro, but unfortunately I am starting a PhD 3 weeks before and I can't justify spending my whole stipend payment on a comic con.
