Just to add another 'twist' to this Thread: Though there were Pulp covers produced earlier, i believe these to be chronologically the First 10* Comic Book Robot Covers ever produced. With all the fervor (and deservedly so) around FC3, I thought it'd be interesting to see where it fell in this regard. Note, this is not a best Robot cover list, but a chronological one by order of production. So all you Startling 49 fans hold your stones :D. And if i missed one, please correct

1) Smash Comics #1 (Aug. 1939) -Quality

2) Mystery Men Comics #2 (Sept. 1939) -Fox

3) Movie Comics #6 (Sept/Oct. 1939) -DC

4) Amazing Mystery Funnies v2 #11 (Nov. 1939) -Centaur

5) Pep Comics #1 (Jan. 1940) -MLJ

6) Fantastic Comics #3 (Feb. 1940) -Fox

7) Exciting Comics #1 (Apr. 1940) *tie  -Nedor/Pines/Better

Zip Comics #3 (Apr. 1940) *tie -MLJ

8) Prize Comics #4 (June 1940) -Prize

9) Planet Comics #8 (Aug. 1940) -Fiction House

10) Blue Bolt v1 #11 (Apr. 1941) -Novelty Press

My takeaways: Interesting to note, no Timely :whatthe:. There are only 3 entries between Lou Fines 'bookend masterpieces. I think Zip Comics 3 is probably the least seen on the auction block in recent years, and Quality had the jump on everybody  Any Boardie here own all 10* ?
