Personally, I really like TTA 34 and voted for it as best. Something about that cover, a monster on your bedroom ledge, that brings out the little kid out in you. Very simple but scary. I also really like TOS 16, Metallo is Iron Man !

I am of the same mind. Nice cover but not in the top 5 IMO.

Strange Tales 60 is my new all time fave..its so....I know a few others agree with me...still have not found a copy in the wild, not an ebayer, still have not popped that cherry.

That's a tough issue. I got mine about 20 years ago, and for a while it was the only graded copy on the census.

I'll even call it sub-par. Group think at its worst :insane:

Pretty cool covers on some of those Astonishing Tales.

.....if you're a reader/collector, you can find indexes for the contents for individual issues at www.atlastales.com and a cornucopia of info on all things Atlas..... GOD BLESS....

This auction is really worth a look. There are books and covers that are seldom, if ever, seen.

Ebay seller comics4less has over 600 pre-code/code horror auctions this week. I don't ever recall this many at one time on eBay from 1 seller.

That is an impressive group of books, even if many of them are lower grade. Great opportunity to pick up some early books or hole fillers.

I low ball bid on almost all of those and lost on almost all of those. One thing I found out though is my low ball bids held up quite well on the Marvel Tales as I won 4 of them well below my max bid.

It seems by this auction that in the hierarchy of Atlas pre hero titles, MT is clearly the bottom.

I hope that holds up while I can get a good run going :wishluck:

I did over-pay on the 2 books I really wanted though and I am happy to get them

..... considering that Marvel Tales was the continuation of Timely's flagship title and often had some of my favorite PCH stories, I always found it's unremarkable place on the Atlas hierarchy to be puzzling. GOD BLESS...
