One of my customers cancelled their meeting at the last minute, so I was able to take a trip a little farther south in my territory than I normally do and stopped at an antique mall I've never been to before.

I found these three books for $1 each...

I collect the Superman family titles and DC bronze age oddities, so I'll definitely have to bring donuts to my appt that cancelled the next time I see him to say thanks!

First Warlord! And it was one of the two issues I needed to complete the 1st Issue Special run. It's a little rough around the edges, but good enough for me.

The 1st Justice Society in their Adventure Comics run has been proving elusive to me lately, so I was very pleased to see this in the wild in decent shape for cover price.

And of course, being one issue closer to completing my Lois Lane run makes me happy any day of the week!

Did some puttering around some tag sales and flea markets this weekend and scored the following...

The bags are new old stock from 1994 with tags still attached. The Hulks were $1 apiece; unfortunately the 340 was the roughest of the bunch (around a 5.0), but the others were 9.0s or better.

The Bond game was in simply stunning, hardly-played condition with all pieces and the original scorecards intact. The card game was from 1978 and well-loved, but also complete... and fun to play with art on the cards from greats like Buscema and Kirby.

Had the card game as a kid. I'm not sure that I played the game as much as I flipped through the cards for years and admired the artwork. Cool find.

Looks to be the original

What are those stains though ?

Only way to be sure it is original is to check the staple count. They did a reprint in 2014 that, on the outside, is identical to the original, except for the number of staples. An original has two staples and a reprint has 3.

Info from a flea market vendor produced a good deal; hot/key books are always nice to find but the infamous Betty book is my fave.

What is the "infamous Betty book"?

So I get this lot today.

From a guy called David Russell, concept artist on stuff like Star Wars, Batman etc - 15 Oscar winning films in fact.

This was work he had done on a 1999 Australian/NZ show - "Journey To The Centre of The Earth" with Bryan Brown and Treat Williams.

I found them in a folder in a rubbish bin. This was about 10% of it - there was loads!

Unbelievable - a world renowned conceptual artists original work in a bin in Melbourne!
