Jon Cryer is staying with CBS, but moving on to NCIS. Hopefully, there is a guest spot for him at least on the show to offer redemption for his character from Quest For Peace. :wishluck:lol

Jon Cryer would have made a great Jimmy Olsen ;)

He'll do well in NCIS...

And yet another cast member I like.

SUPERGIRL Casts Glenn Morshower As 'General Sam Lane'

We already knew 'General Sam Lane' would be joining the likes of 'Red Tornado' and 'Livewire' on Supergirl at some point this season, but now we know who'll play him. According to IGN, Glenn Morshower is set to portray the father of Lois and Lucy Lane in a recurring role. His inclusion comes hot on the heels of Jenna Dewan-Tatum's casting as his younger daughter on the CBS show.

Supergirl's General Lane is described as a powerful military lifer and and an overprotective father to both Lucy Lane and her sister, Lois. His arrival in National City stirs up trouble for Supergirl when he enlists her in a dangerous government initiative. Morshower seems to be the perennial military man, having played similar roles in X-Men: First Class, Agents Of SHIELD, The Men Who Stare At Goats and in Michael Bay's first three Transformers movies.

Glenn Morshower is cast as EVERY military officer EVER. He's like the new Chris Cooper. Christ, the guy even played an officer in a video game.

Black Hawk Down! With one of the great closing speeches.

Supergirl is going to be a playa?

SUPERGIRL's Toyman And James Olsen Tease Love-Triangle

Kicking things off, Jordan stated that there wasn't much he could say about this new version of Toyman, Winn Schott, other than the fact that it would be a different interpretation and backstory from the Toyman in DC Comics. "[i'm not] the red-headed, jolly, weird-clothing-wearing Toyman. Certainly, that's not how we meet [Winn Schott]. And he certainly has a different backstory. But it's equally as exciting. As we're sort of getting into a few episodes, it's becoming more and more clear. It's one of those things like, "Oh, I see: My character shares the name of this thing... Oh, I wonder what that means?" But there's literally no indication of [him becoming Toyman right now], so I'm learning along with the audience." Apparently, this version of Toyman is still a tech-genius but one who undervalues his abilities. He'll be the tech-support for Team Supergirl, the Felicity (Arrow) or Cisco (The Flash) of the group.

As for a potential love-triangle between Supergirl, Schott and Olsen, Jordan has apparently been a long time admirer of Kara, long before he finds out about Supergirl. But Brooks teased that it won't be a love-triangle on Supergirl but a "love rhombus" meaning there's a fourth, interested party in the wings. Jordan added, "There's definitely some love going toward Kara on both sides. Now, what we see in the pilot is, she's definitely a little more into James, for sure."

Better not!

10 Facts You Need to Know About Supergirl

5. Only Three Actresses Have Played Her Onscreen

CBS’s new Supergirl show will be just the third time Supergirl has been portrayed in a live action film or TV show. Melissa Benoist will take up the TV role for CBS this October, appearing as the 24 year old Kara Danvers who has been hiding her super powers from the world (but not her adopted family, or her famous cousin).

The most recent portrayal of Supergirl was in the hit series Smallville by actress Laura Vandervoort. Adrianne Palicki previously played a character who claimed to be Kara in an earlier season of Smallville, but Vandervoort was the only one to appear as the real Supergirl. Supergirl plays a large role in the seventh season of Smallville as she was seen adjusting to life on Earth, and returned for a handful of appearances in later seasons.

But the first live action portrayal of Supergirl was in the 1984 film Supergirl starring Helen Slater as Kara. In the film, Supergirl comes to Earth from Krypton in search of an item called the Omegahedron that has fallen into the hands of a witch, played by Faye Dunaway. The film was a box office and critical flop, but the passage of time means the movie still has its fans – either as a cult-classic, or a movie “so bad that it’s good.” Either way, Slater will return to CBS’ series to play Kara’s adopted mother.

7. Supergirl is also Power Girl (Kind of)

As if Supergirl’s history isn’t complicated enough, there is another Supergirl from an alternate universe named Power Girl. Power Girl (Kara Zor-L) made her debut in “All-Star Comics” #858 in 1976, having – just like Supergirl – escaped the destruction of Krypton in an escape pod. The events were later explained to take place in an alternate universe, with Power Girl’s destination actually Earth-Two, where she was a part of the Justice Society of America. She eventually made her way to the main DC universe, where she came face to face with her younger counterpart Supergirl (Kara Zor-El).

Power Girl has a similar appearance to Supergirl, but they are not identical. Power Girl’s hair is shorter, her costume white, and in most versions features a sexy, revealing cut-out across her chest. Power Girl has similar powers to Supergirl and other survivors from Krypton, but along with those of the Earth-Two Superman (Kal-L), are somewhat lowered. Power Girl also found herself a secret idenity: Karen Starr, a successful computer programmer.

2. She May Be More Powerful Than Superman

If you want to get DC fans in an argument, try asking them who’s more powerful: Supergirl, or Superman. Fans have been going back and forth about this question for years, and it may never have a definitive answer. Since both Superman and Supergirl are from Krypton, they of course have many of the same powers. Some argue Superman is stronger because he is larger, while other claim that Supergirl actually growing up on the larger planet Krypton means she should have the edge.

Superman is known for holding back when it comes to his powers, so he doesn’t do any unnecessary damage to innocents. Supergirl, on the other hand, has trouble showing the same restraint. Does “not holding back” make Supergirl more powerful? That isn’t a very strong argument on its own, but differences between the characters’ ages (Supergirl is technically older than Superman) and questioned abilities to absorb sunlight have kept this debate going for years (to the delight of DC, we have to assume).

I didn't know that.

They addressed this more recently in the animated movie: Batman/Superman: Apocalypse.

Batman studies Supergirl's physiology and cell structure in the Batcave and arrives at the conclusion that she metabolizes and utilizes the Earth's solar radiation more efficiently and quickly. The result: he speculates that Supergirl may be more powerful than Superman.

The counterargument in the 2nd paragraph being delivered by Superman in Supergirl (2005) #5. I would hazard a guess the answer would never be revealed. It would be like killing the goose that laid the golden eggs. They're evenly matched and that's the way I like it (thumbs u
