Just back from CGC, not to happy with the PQ but what the heck, it's still a nice book with a great cover!

Nice book. I have a question. Is the 50 still super golden age size? I get conflicting stories about that. I think someone said it was and the 51 was sort of a hybrid between super gold size and the narrower run that started with the 52.

looks super gold size to me.

I tend to think that it's either a hybrid like you mentioned Frank or narrow, leaning on the hybrid side. I look at the cgc label and compare where the sides of the book line up compared to the width of the cgc label. The super golden age size tends to be almost the same width, where this one seems more narrow than the label. I could be way off but that's how I compare the sizes. (shrug)

Sounds good to me Adam! Recently, I had an opportunity to line up a copy of the 50 with a 48 and the width was pretty dead on but there was a slight spine roll that may have skewed the result.

Been a while since I picked up any of the later Timely books, but the cover of 77 is just so awesome(ly bad) that I couldn't resist...

Triangular head or not, that is one sweet comic :applause:

I'll second that. :headbang:

Timely must've paid well enough for Subby to get triangle reduction surgery after this cover. Around this time he had work done.

ennamored. (:
doh!

Yeah, apparently Subby was too busy with the ladies to even help Cap, Torch & Toro rescue Bucky from alien invaders... :ohnoez:

Cap gets Bucky through WW II, saving him how many times from Nazis. Peace finally arrives and the kid let's himself get captured by space invaders! doh!

Yeah, apparently Subby was too busy courting favor with the fairer sex to help Cap, Torch & Toro rescue Bucky from alien invaders... :ohnoez:

Four fingered ones at that! :o

The little green invaders may be from Timely's funny animal side of the stable cleverly disguised as alien robots.

Also, Bucky appears to be frozen solid. I think he needs the Torch & Toro's help more than Cap's!

...How nightmarish! :fear:

Big thanks to Frank (Metropolis) for pulling this for me.

order is restored! a couple months back, somebody sent one of those "make an offers" on a past h'tage win of mine, and it was truly a godfather situation--i sold my old bp 14, and the global run had a hole in it. it is now filled. not as nice as the old one, but it'll have to do.
