Happy 4th Retro and to all my precode buddies! :applause:

The titmouse was worried,

Sitting up in his perch

Ruffling his feathers

Hopping from maple to birch

There was vivesection unfolding

And a child seemed to be the perp!

Blood organs and gore

There was carnage galore

All from a young fellow

Like you would see in your

Local comic store...

Powersaws spinning

A ghoulchild widely grinning

The hatchet it rose and it fell

The bird let out a chirp

As the kid went beserk

Did he not know his victim was already

In hell?

Hed run into stranger danger

Guy tried to slip him a 'sleeper'

What the monster had not forseen

This was the son

Of the crypt keeper

The bird fluttered off

Titmouse hee hee

Be careful who you attack sickos

Watch out for the family tree.

"Independence Day"

This fourth of July will be reason to celebrate

Months of devious plans, dare not hesitate

Slyly whistling 'Thy Country tis of thee'

Eyes glazed over in heinous glee

Glances her way with a crooked smile

Planned her doom with cunning guile

Firework echoes blast in the high rise suite

He studies the science of the blasts beats

He raises the barrel to the back of her head

And watches the rockets, up they fled

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The first was for his own sick pleasure

The other two just for good measure!

The devils plan has made its play

Now it's time to celebrate his Independence Day!

Superduper!

This was a very cool contest. Just read through it all. Now it is over I will add one of my pre-code Haikus.

Memories of fear

Demons once cloaked in black ink

White code stamp mocking

Thanks for the kind words. Hope you stick around and share some more.

Well it seems Poruipine has wrapped up the 2.0 addition of the contest! Congrats on a great poem that gathered tons of support. You get a copy of Men's Adventures #26! Had a great time this go around and we will do another one in the near future. Back to business as usual so feel free to share whatever you please!

Hooded cowards in the night

Evil hatred knows no bounds

Torchlight flickers

Faces out of sight

The group it gathers round

Under moon

Clear and full

A womans bondage

Her life means nil

To fiends taking

Liberty as hostage

Robes ripple

Like the fire

Even though the

Night is still

Piercing gazes

Show no traces

Of humanity

Long gone

Cackles of glee

Yet in shame they shall flee

At the end

Of the victims

Dying song.
