A great list West.

So many great ones, but my top 5

Headline #8 - Hitler as looming menace, beautifully rendered and superb composition.

Marvel Mystery #46 - Most whacked out Hitler cover of the era, and pure Schomburg greatness.

Catman #20 - perfectly sums up the feelings everyone had for the world's worst villain.

Real Life #3 - slightly marred by the unrelated boxes, but striking as there is no hero on the cover, and of course, Schomburg!

Mystic #9 - One could argue for any number of classic hero battles Hitler covers from the era, but everything from the Destroyer's cool costume, the black logo banner, the goofy dialogue balloon and the bizarre spike and flame torture device sums up what is so awesome about WW2 cover GA.

Did anything change on the list?

And would this be a good time to discuss whether National #12 belongs on it? The image looks like a generic dictator, vaguely modeled after Hitler, but a pencil thin moustache and no swastika makes it seem doubtful IMHO.

No new additions.

I think there are a few that can be argued either way based on the position of the drawing & the artist ability/artistic take on Hitler.

True. Good points have been raised about Blue Beetle #34. National #12 just doesn't look like Hitler to me.

As an aside, I have used the name Hitler so many times in my posts that I'm probably on some NSA watch list.

Thought I'd bump this thread (kudos to @vaillant who links to it in his meta-thread) given how hot Hitler covers have been lately.

I'll echo @walclark that I don't think either Blue Beetle 34 or National 12 show Hitler.  There are other books not on the list that I've seen proposed as having Hitler on the cover, but I don't think they do:  Zip 26, Terrific Comics 2, and Action 69 (this one, frankly, is preposterous).  There are others I can't recall off the top of my head.

Berk clearly had some books that were in his collection solely because they were Hitler covers.  I say "clearly" because they may have been the only issues that he had from some runs.  But does anyone know if he actually completed the Hitler cover run?  If he didn't, he must have come pretty close.

He used to have a lot more GA comics so I'm sure he had more books that are on the list.  For example, he had the Marvel Mystery run which included 4 of the books on the list.

It's a question we can ask him when resumes his usual Board posting.
