I spoke to the gentleman that held the auction on ebay and he told me he bought it a month ago or so raw on ebay as a 4.0 raw.

He paid $7877 to win that auction.

He paid for slabbing and sold it for a loss, final hammer $7760 odd dollars.

He said he was refunded from the original auction because he showed the grade to the original seller, I highly doubt that happened though..... :gossip:

I believe not late last year, a boardie sold a 3.0 on here for roughly about the same price. Must be the going rate for 3.0's now, could be slightly more now.
I sold a 3.0 last month for $7500 to a fellow boardie and really felt more like a "friendly" price than the 9K or so I was going to price it at

It's definitely not out of the question that a 3.0 can potentially sell for $9k. I guess we shall see how the other higher graded copies at auctions fair up.
