I'd likje to nominate r1hyatt. Purchased restored CGC item: 361237663137, cracked the case then sold it to me as unrestored: 400895559138. Take a look, 100% unquestionably the same comic

Please let me know if I am nominating him incorrectly

Dont' forget to neg him (after you get your $$ back) and spell out what he did in the feedback.

Seller sold me my own restored book back after removing from slab-FRAUD

Just a friendly warning about *removed real name* of Westerville Ohio (r1hyatt). Good ol' Bobby boy is yet another E-Bay scammer who buys restored slabbed comics, cracks them, then sells them as unrestored.

Bobster purchased E-Bay ID 361237663137 (restored), cracked the case then sold it to me as unrestored: 400895559138. Take a look, 100% unquestionably the same comic.

When confronted with it, he lied constantly through numerous exchanges. After filing a case w/E-Bay (who were useless by the way) his final argument was that yes, he bought the restored copy, but the one he sold me was a different copy...magically with absolutely identical stress lines, etc.

I got my money back in the end, but he just turned around and sold it to some other poor unsuspecting sap.

E-Bay, in their infinite wisdom believed him, so hoping to spread the word here. If anyone knows of any other highly frequented forums where I can post this, please let me know.

Best of luck dodging the dodgies!

Quoted posters original post from restored forum for completion.

they don't appear to be selling any books right now.

So let's all block him and at least curtail his fishin for stuff to fraudulently resell

I like how all his items are "SO HOT!!"

seems like they are paying other people-- what's the deal?

I think he stayed in it too long and had buyer's remorse. Rookie bidder (shrug)

show us some of the back and forth messages-- you said he was responding.

artifact-dungeon

This tool (artifact-dungeon) wins a book and never pays for it or responds to my messages, but continues to sell

(mostly porn smut) on eBay and without any regard to the fact they ignore sellers requests to be paid.

Sorry, I edited my OP to be clearer, that he didn't respond to my messages.

Ebay policy:

If a buyer does not pay for an item he's won, ebay will say they will limit his buying if he has several cases of unpaid items. They won't actually do, that, but they will say it, so at least that's some sort of deterrent or something. :screwy:

Does it say that eBay will limit his buying, or that it will limit his buying? Because the latter is probably true, since sellers can choose to block buyers with a certain number of unpaid item cases. I've got my preferences set to whatever the minimum number of cases they allow is, and I've had at least one buyer blocked for that reason in the past few months.

They say they will limit his buying until he gets back on track, ie they are lying

They never do this

I thought of buying a few of his BIN's and just let him stew as I never respond or pay, but I kept hearing the words my mom used to say, 2 wrongs don't make (as in equal) a right (shrug)

Two wrongs don't make a right but giving someone a taste of his own medicine is not wrong. I mean, putting people in a cell is wrong but we do have prisons.

Wow, what scummy seller behavior. You are right, it is unquestionably the same comic.

-- ASM #27 -- slabbed CGC restored 8.0 (top cover TRIMMED) -- purchased for $52

-- ASM #27 -- raw ... and sold as unrestored, for $122

-- ASM #27 -- raw -- resold to an unsuspecting buyer for $122 after OP returned it for refund

The seller doubled his money by being dishonest. Blech.
