Well, it's probably been done to death, but it's a quiet Sunday, so...

 

Who would you rate high in the pantheon of pre-code horror & sci fi artists, and why? Show examples of covers and/or stories if you have them!

You really only have two on the list.

 

1. EC

2. Everybody else.

 

 

Face it, if you like the PCH genre they're ALL great.

...who was the most Ghastly...

Ingels is my favorite* as well, but I don't own a single Ingels cover. Maybe I need to rectify that.

 

*clear favorite if we're talking horror; if we're talking sci-fi, too, it gets tougher; Wally Wood would be right up there.

Not in any order at all but among the top PCH artists in my opinion:

 

Bernard Baily

Classic body of work in various genres, but best loved by me by his horror output!

Unique style, instantly recognizable with utterly creepy detail!
