Since I will never be able to compete with you Timely guys...Thought you would like to see a Capt. America Sentinels of Liberty Kit. Here is the complete first (brass badge) version. The second envelope is from the wartime version with the copper badge. This version is very slightly different.I foolishly sold this badge and card years ago then a few weeks later I found the envelope. This is why I don't sell much out of my collection much any more...

What is the story of that blank box under the submariner? I know there is some story to it, but forgot what it is.

Its on the 8th page of the 12 page story. The speculation is that the Subby story was originally only 8 pages in length and published in Motion Pictures Funnies 1, which was published on a very limited basis and may or may not have been distributed in movie theatres on the east coast. MPF was discontinued after the first issue. So when Martin Goodman wanted Funnies Inc. to produce a "new" comic for him, Funnies took the 8 page Subby story and added 4 more page to get the full story in MC 1. Now that I have had a chance to see an original MC 1, it is very obviously that first 8 pages were drawn at a different time than last 4 pages.

Right. In MPWF 1, the box on p. 8 said "Continued next week."

Thanks for posting those nice big pix of MARVEL #1 Submariner story, Vern. Really tough to find good quality interior shots online. I have never seen the interior in person, but those pix make it look as dreamy as I imagined it to be! There is something magical about that book for me, I know it doesn't do it for everyone.

I only hope one day I can own a low grade complete copy. Good luck with your hunt!
