Thanks guys! Did anyone pick-up any of those higher grade Mystics on Heritage? There were some beautiful books that really jumped in price.

...the jump for the Mystic 18 was...... irritating........ but I'm not going to be a sore loser. GOD BLESS...

Better a sore loser than a sore winner - that really smarts!

....at 1400 geets, I think I might have been a sore winner lol ....but that stupid comic is the epitome of cool, I guess it's one of a dozen or so that you go to the bank for.... GOD BLESS....

1400. Holy carp.

Agreed. A little rich for my blood, good thing I don't particularly want that issue (but wouldn't mind being an owner of it!) Some of the $$$ for particular PCH issues/covers makes sense to me, but others (like a Mystic 18 going for this much) leave me scratching my head. I personally love Mystic 21 a great deal more, but different strokes I suppose. :)

18 is definitely scarcer in nearly all grades.

Scarcity is cool and all, but the cover doesn't grab me; at least, no more than one of hundreds of other PCH Atlas titles. Everett is one of my all-time faves, but this effort of his leaves me feeling flat. Still wouldn't mind owning one, but it wouldn't jump out at me from a selection of precodes. :)

I love the cover! Ever since I sold my mid-grade a few years back, I'd regretted it. I recently got this lower-grade copy here on the boards.

That copy would fit just fine in my collection! I don't mean to rag on the cover that much -- it's better than some certainly, but it wouldn't make my top 10 Everett efforts, for example. But everyone's list like that will differ. :)

I really like the Mystic 18 cover. Everett, horror and Cold War all rolled into one with a nice red cover. But I think it is the snow that makes this one stand out for me, kinda like the Cole Catman cover. Btw, Mystic 10 is my equal favorite in the run.

Exactly why it has to be in a discussion of top 10 Everett covers...not really debatable to me. A high grade pedigree copy at auction would be a fun spectacle, hint, hint, hint.

Anything truly highgrade PCH is worthy of note! But that's probably why this cover doesn't do it for me -- Stan went to the cold war/russkies well SO MANY TIMES. And it continued right into FF#1. :)

Now silly me; assuming you mean $1400, I thought the discussion was about the original Timely Mystic from the '40's.

Here's my copy, and except for one little flaw, would O/W be VF- NM;

You have gooood taste in PCH, Jayman. All I have for that issue is a coverless copy. :)

I would have been happy with that book in a 9.0 slab ...... very tightly graded. That spine is tight. GOD BLESS....
