This one really stood out from the rest on the newsstand.

Kinstler did a great job with those Black Hood covers. They are striking and different, I think, from most of his other work.

With the number of books I have featuring "THE CAPTAIN AND THE KIDS/

KATZENJAMMER KIDS" including ACE COMICS, TIP TOP COMICS, SPARKLER

COMICS, FEATURE BOOK and COMICS ON PARADE...I guess I would have to

say they were one of my favorites.

When I was really young, I do have a vague memory of loving those scoundrels though I believe even at that young an age, it was tempered with some horror at the pranks they were pulling. Today, ... they are really hard to take and I wonder if a younger generation could actually connect with the oddly sadistic nature of the humor in those strips.

 

The book looks pretty tight :thumbsup:
