Who's Vin?

"Vin's taken ages on this. It's extra-sized, but he has just put so much work into it that it's taken longer and he'll probably be around another month. I sent the first 80% of it out lettered to friends last night. The mods have all drooled. It's maybe his best work ever.

 

Apologies for the delays but nothing I can do. This wraps up volume one and the second volume will be out next year. In the meantime though there's plenty of Millarworld books to keep you tickled. Try MPH and Starlight now Kick- is complete"

 

There's no way it'll be September. Vin in the home stretch but he's drawing a page a week at the mo, 12 hour days in his studio but very, very slow. I think we'll be off to press next month and out 3 weeks later.

 

On the plus side, we're giving him a nice big gap between volumes 1 and 2

I haven't thought about this for a while but man, what a great story so far. This could be legendary..if/when they finish it.

So a new ten-issue prequel series will be starting, based on a ten-issue series that seemingly stalled out at issue #4?

Maybe it's a race. Let's see which series finishes first.

I got the cover to issue five by Quitely... hoping this prequel adds to the value and potential movie buzz.

He is known to be slow but at NYCC Frank insisted he is waiting on Millar to write the remaining issues so that he can do the art.

That's a shocker to me. I always assumed it would be Quitely dragging on the timeliness of the book. Then again, they had massive delays on The Authority together so I guess anything is possible when they work together.

I regret hoping.

8 months between issues? No thanks - feeling vindicated about my trade-waiting decision. Quitely is awesome, but v slow (I am assuming it's him and not Millar that is responsible for the delay).
