Forever People #1 CGC 9.6 @ $405 & 30 watchers -- Reserve NOT met. hm

I had a nice copy of this comic but had no idea what I was selling when I let it go. :/

Yep, this wasn't always considered Darkseids first full appearance. OPG always had it as such, but CGC called it a cameo. He's not on every page of the book, but he's in it enough. 6 panels I believe, spread across 3-4 pages with plenty of speaking. He plays a slightly larger role than Gamora in ST 180, which is considered her first full. When its close, sometimes picking up a reader and doing some due dilligence can make a world of difference.

Here's my old school copy showing exactly what your talking about:

Cameo... hm(tsk)

I'd be surprised if that doesn't get to $300. You don't see many copies that look as nice as that one. A true classic.

If it had the stickers I would be bidding on it myself.

DC Comics Presents #49 is by far the most impressive with a classic looking battle cover featuring dialogue on the cover by Black Adam.

In today's CGC-age of seeing only the cover. This one has the most WOW factor.

Agreed...One of the coolest Black Adam covers for the bronze age, but it's the second only cover of Black Adam. I think at the time DC Comics did not have the full licensing rights of the Marvel Family from Fawcett.

If this film does well...Warner Brothers will somehow fit superman in the story. There will be a Superman Vs. Shazam. And all of it fans from the last 60 years can't wait for it.

This is really helpful, but it's probably worth adding Shazam #8 (December 1973) to the list, which reprints Black Adam's first appearance.

This same story is also reprinted in Harmony Books' Shazam: From the 40s to the 70s (January 1977) and in Adventure Comics #497 (March 1983).

There is also Alter Ego #7 which is in-between his appearances in Marvel Family #1 and Shazam #8. It probably won't get much action since Alter Ego is a fanzine and not a real comic however he does appear on the front cover. The book was cheap a few months back and the only remaining copy on ebay is much higher now due to the movie news.

Yes, an overlooked book but there are a ton of them out there. It's a 100 pager so hard to find in high grade.

with the spike in NM 98 I suspect we'll see a lot of collectors sell their extra NM 98 9.8's and go after Hulk 181 or ASM 129 this holiday season.

Hulk 181 has been moving up fast in low grade recently, to much to ignore. Also High grade hulk 181's have seemed to stabalize this year so that compounded with Wolverine's Death will make hulk 181 fire this holiday season as younger collectors finally can start to afford/trade for other high end books.

The interest in Hulk 181 is phenomenal currently and its not even Christmas/post Christmas yet. not as many copies on the market this year. 9.8's should have no problem cruising back up to 15k within a year or so.. (not quite the 20k of early cgc days but still..it will eventually get there again)

but seriously,, go check out low grade cgc hulk 181 sold listings, its nuts..

almost 1k in very low grade..

It's crazy. Even a lower grade, incomplete copy with married pages is going to set you back some pretty serious money. This one sold for $575.
