None of you guys mentioned the adi granov covered, Lebron James marvel comic?

For shame

That LeBron James "King of the Rings" Marvel Comic book was a special insert that's hard to find in high grade since it was secured inside of the ESPN magazine with rubber cement which can cause discoloration and an oily residue o the back cover

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8485675/lebron-james-stars-first-ever-espn-marvel-comic-book-espn-magazine

Oddly enough, there were other LeBron James comic books, some featuring artist James Jean as variants for DC Comics and Powerade back in 2005.

New York Comic Con 2013 - the guys at Marvel put 300+ copies at the Marvel booth as giveaways.

I have several NM copies and I assume thats the only reason the book has stayed around its $10 price point. :(

mess. That book's worth $10!? I carefully removed it from the magazine and bagged it for S&G's. I guess I better dig it out.

I've found more than a few #2's recently for cheap but did not buy a bunch. I have a few though. #11 seems to have been dry in my parts for awhile now. I just never see them in store boxes, or if I do, the store is asking too much for a beater. It is like some stores were trying to cash in on a book that wasn't ready to be cashed in on yet.

#11 is not as obscenely common as #2

this "set" notion is precisely why I have been buying 11s when I see them as well as the 2s.

that price still doesn't make sense given the # of other copies out there on ebay, but i wonder if maybe there weren't that many other opportunities to get a #11 at the same time as #2 on ebay at that moment?

The sale of #11 did take me by surprise, but I guess it does have a couple things going for it. Those being, an early Deadpool appearance and the first appearance of Domino. It will be an interesting book to watch as the Deadpool and X-Force movies make their way into production. I never really tried to make sense of this current market. Trying to is a fool's errand.

.....Which is $25 cheaper than local store "Book Heaven" had it listed at for like 7 years after it was released, before they went out of business.

I pointed out one sale a while ago, but it does look like the second printing of Spider-Man 2099 #1 is selling pretty well in all grades.

I've never seen the 2nd print before but I'll be looking now (thumbs u

It was an insert with an action figure. A few of the earlier reprints, such as Web of Spider-Man 118, sell for more than the first prints. Since these are packaged with the figure and tough to open, many of the comics don't emerge from the packaging in NM condition.

I completed my Spider-man 2099 run aobut 4-5 years ago, and the white has always been a solid seller on ebay. This thread is good at causing short term hoarding/speculating bumps but that one has always been sought after by collectors.

This is the first I've heard of a 2nd Printing of SPIDER-MAN 2099 #1. I only knew of the original (which I luckily got signed last year by Rick Leonardi & Peter David at NYCC 2013-- 9.8).

Part of me wants to get it now.

Saw a copy once in a cheapo box in pretty nice shape. Looked at it, wondered what the heck it was, and then put it back. Realized I should have snagged it but upon my return a week or so later, it was gone. I think I had just looked through too many comics that day and everything was just looking uninteresting to me. A trait I have since learned to control a little better.
