Atlas sure had a lot of "missing head" covers, as well as animated detached head covers. On the other hand I can't recall many if any classically gory decapitation covers - where the head has been recently violently separated from the body and the subject is clearly dead.

 

The closest thing to actual gore on an Atlas cover I can recall is AIWW #24, and even there it's not quite clear if it's supposed to be viscera or some weird metamorphosis.

AIWW 23 has a guy's face rotting off.
