I actually saw a 3.5 sell for 5400.00,so the 2.0 is pretty much on par price wise.

Would a spine split removed still give the book a 2.5?

I was the buyer of that book. :-) Yes, it was a strong price, but I have been waiting 6 months to find a decent low grade example at auction, and prices have just been through the roof. The last few sales 1.8 sold for $3600 recently....

A 1.8 sold for $3600 a couple weeks ago.

The last three 2.0s sold in the $2400 - $2600 range, but there was one 2.0 that sold for $4263 a year ago.

Wow, that seems like a strong price to me. Makes me think about trying to get the resto removed from my copy. Not that I plan on selling it....just would enjoy it more with a blue label.

If it's a full spine split I think you would get a 1.0 Blue label if you removed the resto.

Maybe a resubmit would work better. They might give you a 2.5 Blue label with "notes".

I think you did well too, congrats!

For what it's worth, I had offered on that Clink book. The fact that it has white pages and an alleged Jack Kirby auto on the first page certainly helped that price along. I thought I came in fairly strong at right around 10% off of asking price as I really liked the book, but someone popped on the full asking price (which didn't surprise me).
