I was out of this one as I got called to go in to the music store to do some repairs. Will be out tomorrow for the same thing.
But is this right? I don;t see the crop in the main image? Or am I work-tired and mixed up 2 separate films?

The Image wasn't a crop, Pov - just resized a bit to make it bigger. They are two different pictures.
In the Image challenge, the creature is about to break through the observatory wall to the room where Janet Munro is recovering. The other image is just a prior still, also from near the end of the film, when the creatures are attacking.
Nice set of colorized lobby cards for the film (thnx MC!). That's Ms. Munro being strangled in card 2, in bed in card 3, and down on the floor of card 7.
The 8th (last) lobby card shows the action just after the creature has broken through the wall, as depicted by the Image challenge still.

Wowie! The first picture is From The Day The Earth Caught Fire. Don't know where the second one is from.

Wowie! The first picture is From The Day The Earth Caught Fire. Don't know where the second one is from. Good grief Vince, you just made my (our) day! I'd never given Four Color 1024 any thought, but I will now - thnx BZ. I'm still running around like a madman today so... Today's Image challenge will post around 6PM PST (that's less than 6 hours from now).Still planning on a double-feature Thursday (8/9) and Friday (8/10), fyi.
I plan to be on hand for tonight's contest, having completed my "honey do" list late yesterday.
