I can imagine that this one would have been an exciting issue to pick up off of the newsstand. The mythos was still so new in 1964: nothing was tired; nothing was old and overused.
Given how the covers of modern Marvels seldom illustrate the contents, it brings a smile to the lips to see the storytelling skills demonstrated on Kirby's covers.
