I love auctions.....
With all the hype surrounding the latest Heritage Auction, I decided to tune in on the internet. I am amazed at the prices, but I am glad that collectors are putting money into something that they hopefully love. Admittedly, I did have one impulse purchase - The Walking Dead #1 CGC 9.8. What? Well, it seemed that the price was reasonable considering what I had seen on EBAY lately. Admittedly it isn't as much of a good deal when you add in the buyers premium, shipping, and sales tax. However, with so many premium lots of older books, I am hoping that folks just overlooked it in favor of getting to the older books. I know that many of you think that TWD is in a bubble, but I love the story and I think with the TV show, it has far greater legs that many give it credit for. If I had to do it all over again, I think I would have bid on the Thor #337 CGC 9.9 signed by Stan Lee. This is one of the first books I ever bought as a kid and it remains one of my all time favorites. Thanks for reading and happy collecting.
