JPratt JPratt Learning the Ropes Registered: 07/06/12 Posts: 24	I have this issue of X-Men #85 and it is wrapped weird. I was wondering if something that is wrapped like this will have a significant effect on the grade. It appears to have been bound like that from the manufacturer. FYI, I don't plan on getting this copy graded I just noticed the big strip of white going down the side. The book is flat so it isn't really a roll and you can see that by the BC scan. Any information would be great. I'm a newbie and am trying to cram my brain w/ knowledge. Front Cover Back Cover

I'm pretty sure I've even seen 9.8's with as bad or worse miswraps than that issue. Definitely 9.6 and 9.4's. Now, 9.9 or 10.0, I don't know if a miswrap would be taken into account at those nosebleed grades. I was hoping not, but I've been a huge sports card collector for a while and that is definately not the issue in that arena. I just pmed joey thanks for that. It turns out getting on this chat board was the best part of my CGC prem membership. (and to think I was all stoked about the 4 free grades)

I believe CGC considers miswraps to be production related, even in HG. And does not downgrade for them Which I do not necessarily agree with. For me, it's more of a personal preference then it is downgrading miswraps as a physical flaw. Heavily mswrapped books should not receive the same 9.9 -10.0 grade as identical condition books. Miswraps can be very distracting, chopping off major cover art, which to me is a type of flaw. But, that's just my opinion. _________________________ Time you enjoyed wasting is not wasted time.

FFB FFB At long last I feel regular. TOTAL NEWBIE Registered: 02/03/04 Posts: 20616	The miswrap isn't going to affect the grade. All of the damage to the cover is going to affect it a lot, however. VG 4.0.
