Starting today (7/1/12), and over the course of the next 3 months, I'll be posting a single image from 100 science-fiction films from the 1950's and 1960's.

IMPORTANT: the first 50 Image challenges are listed on page 256, with default posts set at 10 per page for reference purposes.

Upon conclusion of the contest on 09/30/12 (or earlier at my discretion), the Top Three individuals who correctly name the most films will receive a free Golden Age or Silver Age comic book of my choice (and postage to anywhere at my expense), along with a 1st Place/2nd Place/3rd Place certificate to denote their achievement.

This is an informal contest and the are simple:

1. The first correct answer for each film scores 1 point. There is no penalty for any wrong guesses, but a contestant is limited to 3 guesses per image number (even if another image is posted as a clue - see 4. below)
2. A film will be used only once (no duplicates).
3. Please do not post any new movie images of your own (I am not eligible to play). They will not count towards the contest, and only serve to reduce the pool of films for me to choose from. Images from already named movies are welcome!
4. If no one makes a correct guess, I will subsequently post 2 clues (only when at least 1 hour has passed) to assist. If the film is still not named, it will be replaced on the list with an image from another motion picture.
5. No PM's please; all information to be posted in this thread.
6. if there is a tie at the end of the contest, a 101st image will be posted as a tie-breaker.
7. Perfect spelling is not required as long as I can figure out the film being named. Abbreviations or acronyms will not be considered.
8. There may be more than one (or none) image per day (no set time, and I am in the PST zone), but this will be announced in advance.
9. Everyone who posts in this thread will have their name entered into a pool for a drawing of consolation prizes of a comic book at least 30 years old.
10. If I've overlooked anything, of if any other special conditions exist in regards to an image, it will be noted.

CONTEST CLOSED 9/8/12 due to Photobucket breach.

BLITZ CONTEST begins 9/21/12

Let's get started!

One of my top-ten science fiction films from the 1950's, with Ray Harryhausen special effects.
