RE: Badge Pickups

Hi, I'm a noob at this ... first time for SDCC.

For those familiar with the badge pickups: we are only allowed to pickup on the same day you ordered the badge for and not earlier ? ,,, and on average, how long is the wait time for pickup ?

ie. Friday and Saturday the con opens at 9:30AM but they say you are allowed to start picking up badges at 8:30 AM, should we be going even earlier to get a place in line ?

Thanks in advance to those with experience !

I've been going for awhile now, and once they start doing the badges at 8:30 it goes very quick.

Pointers

1)If you want exclusives, sketches, get into panels, DEFINITELY show up early, one year I showed up at 6:30 it was a very long line, but like I said it does move fast.

2) Get your Saturday badge before you leave on Friday, that way you don' t have to wait in that line again, you can just wait in the other line with the people that have badges

3) Every year it gets crazier than the last, so, if you want stuff like I said earlier, be prepared to wait for a while in lines \:\)

Any other questions, you can shoot me a PM \(thumbs u

See http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci_reg_pickup.php If you have a Thursday badge, you can pick up the badge early at Town and Country Hotel Convention Center on Wednesday. Town and Country Hotel Convention Center is on Hotel Circle, but there should be a bus from the San Diego Convention Center to Hotel Circle.

From the web link.

"If you have purchased multiple single-day badges (such as Thursday and Sunday, for example), all of your badges will be printed for you when you bring your barcode confirmation to attendee registration at the Convention Center or the Town & Country Hotel. You will then need to visit the Attendee Badge Holder Pick-Up Desk in the Sails Pavilion at the Convention Center to get your daily badge holders. Please be aware that you will need to get in a separate line if you wish to pick up all of your badge holders at once.

The only badge holders that will be available at the Town & Country Hotel are those for 4-Day badges and Thursday single-day badges. For other daily badge holders, you will need to visit the Attendee Badge Holder Pick-Up Desk at the Convention Center. "

Expect extremely long lines. Bring bottled water and use the bathroom before getting in line.

You might also check out the Friends of CCI board. Lots of good insight and advice on logistics, etc. Especially if you're a first timer.

Thanks for the heads up on everything. I really appreciate it.

Just to be clear, I have badges for Friday and Saturday:

1) I line-up Friday morning for my Friday badge but they won't give me both badges at the same time?

2) From the info above, you're saying I have to line up a second time and somewhere else for my Saturday badge ? ... but I can do this Friday evening (or morning) in someway (?).

Sorry for all of the questions, but the process sounds like a logistics nightmare!
