That's whats interesting about Jeffersons, I have never seen a Cupped Broadstrike coin like this in a Jefferson. I'm surprised it was able to be slabbed at all. If the cup was any deeper,it would not fit in the holder!

I wanted to show this very dramatic error Jefferson to those interested in collecting errors in this series. This is an exceptional Major Mint Error thatjust doesn't come around to often. It almost looks like a Die Cap-but in this
case it is not, just a very nice highly cupped broadstrike nickel. Trying to findanother like this error, may take me years.

A very well-known error specialist Fred Weinberg emailed me also mentioning, that he has seen some that were slightly-cupped, but this one is about the best he has seen so far, as the 'cupping' aspect goes.

The coin has strong fullsteps, and full design on the obverse and reverse of the coin which is Certified and graded MS-62 by one of the two top grading servicesin the country. The scratches you see are on the holder, not the coin.

This is what I meant by(in my Profile) that this series is so diversified to collect from.I believe collecting in all types of nickels, I will be adding this to my Custom collection. Always welcome to visit my NGC Registry, The "Custom Set" consists of a mixture of MS High Grade, early prooflike, silver war nickels to various scarce varieties. Drop me a message, I'd like to hear what you collect as well.

I don't think you can include error coins in competitive sets. I have a near gem uncirculated Barber Head Dime that is broadstruck, and NGC won't let me enter it either.

Hello Coinman,,,,Your Absolutely Correct,,,,I called them earlier about that, but
was able to put it in my "Custom Jefferson Set" . I'll be putting it in a few days
from now. And I agree with their Call on it,,,, No problem here,,,,I'm just glad I'm
able to let other potential Jefferson Collectors out there, see just how diversified
this Jefferson Nickel Series can get. I've got quite afew scarce dates in my
High Grade 1938 to date / While I can also put different types also in my Custom
Sets, for everyone to see also. Take Care My Friend, Thanks for writing,,,
