Christmas Story (a few years ago one of the cable stations had a 24 hour marathon, I watched about 3 episodes complete, caught snippets of about another 12 hours worth...it almost cured my addiction, but I watched it again the very next Christmas)

Tried to watch Dune last night. Couldn't make it past the first 30 minutes.

Oh man, are you kidding me? BBCAmerica shows the 4 hour version, and it usually pulls me in for an hour or so.

Dune fans either love or hate Lynch's version; I love it.

I reread the series about every three years. I'm halfway through my cycle.

Sorry.

Took your advice and got the DVD from Netflix. Actually spent about 45 minutes. Production was poor. Story line was hard to follow.

You're a smart guy. What doesn't appeal to you? Have you read the books? Would you like to hear a one hour presentation on my lord and savior, Frank Herbert and how he changed my life?

edit: hehe, it helps to read before you respond. Yes, the production values are dated, and the story is dense, but soooooooo good.

Do you read much science fiction, cause if so, it's well worth your time.

I thought hard about BladeRunner as it is my favorite movie, but I find it hard to watch unless I'm feeling a bit techno-goth.

Great movies!
Hollywood doesn`t get more American than John Wayne or Bogart.

I have watched "Raising Arizona" more times than any movie should be watched.

Also "Election," "Carlito's Way," those dang hobbit movies, and about 2/3 the total career output of Alfred Hitchcock.

I'll watch ANY Cohen Brothers movie.

I'd also watch Brazil by Terry Gilliam anytime it came on....if it ever came on.
