Al Plastino doing a ONE MINUTE LATER of the first Legion in Adventure #247, a story he first worked on 58 years ago!! Thanks to Spencer Beck for making this happen. CAF Page

The covers are in need of some additional dialog.

On the published cover, Superboy should be saying, "WTF" . . .

. . . . and on the o-m-l cover, Cosmic Boy's welcome speech should start with, "Only kidding!"

Superboy then adds, "Hey, you guys had me going for a minute!"

This piece as been on the wall at my LCS - Bedrock City in Houston - for some time; it belonged to a local collector who passed away. Today, was their spring sale with 25% off and some other considerations, it was too much of a bargain to pass up - Grell Pen & Ink beautifully matted and framed - for next to nothing.

Though Mike as done lots of other stuff that I've enjoyed, e.g., Sable and Green Arrow, it's his Legion and Warlord work that made the biggest impression. Now, I have examples of both:

Enjoy them. I will.

For those that can't stand links, here's the new one:

^^^ Shelton is certainly prolific! For a good price you can get related characters, would look good on the wall together. If he'd only stop drawing them nude... Edited by evanc

Great piece. (worship)

I wish Stan sold these on the web or would visit Louisiana.

Thanks! I also wish he'd sell them online. I'd have way more than just this piece in my collection, that's for sure.

Speaking of Louisiana, you been keeping up with Wizard World New Orleans news? It's gona be November 30-December 2 this year and Mignola's coming! Though I'm told he only does quick head sketches at least I'll finally get something from him.

In October 1994, I was diagnosed with having an Atrial Septal Defect - or a hole

in my heart. In March of 1995, I underwent open heart surgery to fix that hole.

The night before my surgery, the comic I read was Superman 100 - The Death of

Clark Kent. The next morning, I was injected with some anesthetics then whisked

off to the operating room.

It was a successful operation and today some 16 years later, I am perfectly

fine. When the opportunity presented itself for me to own pages from this very

comic that was close to my heart, I jumped at it immediately.

Never in my wildest dreams would I imaging owning actual pages to that comic I

read back then. Today I own 8 pages, and if any of you have more pages from

this issue so close to my heart - let me know.

I made a separate gallery for the pages here. Feel free to comment on anything

you find interesting here.
