COICOI I would like to issue a formal apology to myself for allowing myself to inflict this thread on myself.

As many of you know, I joined this board after searching for info on Danny D, or as I knew him at the time, Richard Koos AKA "Comic-Keys" on Ebay (for all you noobs, the man who currently goes by Robojo). I was seeking him out after acquiring two different raw copies of Avengers 1 which he graded in the 9.0-9.2 range, and which subsequently came back from CGC as restored. Long story short, the process of getting my money back lasted over 2 months, and when all was said and done, I was still out close to a grand after grading fees, and the conversion of US to CAN $ which was around $1.6 CAN to $1 US at the time. FF #3 to me signifies the unraveling of Jason Ewert, which I don't need to explain here.
Both of these books represent, to me, an initiation of sorts into the scummy side of this hobby, and both severely impacted my enthusiasm for this hobby, and are a big part of why I no longer collect. The Avengers 1 debacle particularly hurts because I paid what was, at the time, close to the FMV of the book, as it had not yet exploded, and other than an ASM 14 in 9.4 that I once had, the first Avengers 1 was my all-time "biggest" purchase. The subsequent explosion in prices that book has seen would have been the icing on the cake.
So whenever I see copies of that book (which is all the time around here) I get a little angry. Does anyone else get resentful over a particular book?

No book can ever initiate me into the scummy side of this hobby.
No book can severely impact my enthusiasm for this hobby.
I continue to collect & don't expect that ever to change; it's been with me since kindergarten.
No comic book debacle hurts me or can hurt me.
There will never be an icing on the cake for me.
Seeing a book will never make me angry.
I will never get resentful over a particular book.

No, but I get a little more resentful toward the boards and the hobby in general every time I read one of your threads.

I think that life's too short for this. I want back my ignorance and bliss. I think I've had enough of this. Blow me... one last kiss.
