+1 I said it 8 pages back, it was a good movie but I didn't leave the theater going that was the greatest superhero movie ever. I have seen all the lead ups to this movie at least 2 times each in the theater, dark knight and iron man I saw 3 times. Both of those are better than the avengers to me still. Will I buy this on blu-ray? Hell yeah, because that way I can watch all of them in a row. I'm sure I will see the avengers again, maybe it will grow on me like some other movies have. I hate 3d so, I am not inclined to see it in IMAX even to know there is an IMAX location 3 minutes from my house.
Lastly everyone needs to get up off their knee's and get off Whedon's jock. By everyone I mean all the reviewers, the people here, and all places in between.
I've always been a Samuel Jackson fan.....I thought he pulled off a great performance.....heck, they all did. I imagine that cast came with quite the price tag. GOD BLESS....

I choose to stay on my knees.
today will be #3 for me, with the 11 year old who hasn't yet seen it as i was out of town all weekend. i still can't believe how high it jumps the entertainment meter needle up. not sure i've ever had a "better time" at the movies--this from an inveterate movie buff in his mid-50's [only for a few more months, i'm afraid].
certainly iron man 1 is a great flick, but it's like comparing a great AAA team to a great world series team.

The movie was awesome, as stated many times here already.
What we came up with regarding the Agent Coulson "dying", is that this would make a perfect beginning for Wonder Man (and a subsequent Vision) origin and introduction...

I happen to adore the giant Marvel superhero costume collars: Iron Fist, Dr Stange, Vision.
