Just checked that one part, and Widow definitely calls him "Hawkeye" so his name is said once.

Peace,

Chip

In my 40 some years of going to the movies, I have never seen a movie twice in
a theater. Not Star Wars, Potter, Avatar, Jaws, Titanic, LOTR, Batman, Spiderman, etc.
I saw the Avengers this morning and will go back next weekend to see it in 3D.
Wow, just wow. That is how you make a superhero movie.

I feel confidant in saying this:

The Avengers is the superhero movie by which all other superhero movies will be judged.

I've been back to see a movie once or twice, but its been more then a decade since I have. Avengers might be the movie to break that streak. It was an enjoyable two and a half hours that kind of just whizzed on by. The writing was taut, and the dialogue/discourse between characters was pretty strong. Samuel L Jackson seemed to be the one weak link in the chain...not Mace Windu bad, mind you, but if the movie itself was anything less then spectacular, it would've been more then just a minor nit-pick.

Honestly, this was a great superhero/summer blockbuster movie. It didn't venture into the Christopher Nolan realm of trying to rewrite what a superhero movie was supposed to be, instead it basically took all the ingredients that made the other Marvel movies excellent and multipied it by a dozen. It raised the bar by giving us more of what we wanted from movies like Iron Man and Captain America and proved it can be done with mass appeal.

Folks, think of where we've come since the first Blade movie fourteen years ago: the favorite heroes of our childhood have come to life on the silver screen in ways we never thought possible and are quickly proving to be some of the biggest blockbuster hits of the modern age of cinema. An entire industry, that almost died a foolish death nearly 20 years ago, has successfully transitioned from the printed page into the forefront of American pop culture on a mass scale.

What a great time to be a fan of funny books.

Headed out to go see this now with my family. Look forward to seeing Stan Lee and Jack Kirby`s characters on the big screen.
