Got back from the Boston Comic Con where I was able to get some great contributions to the huge jam piece I'm currently working on. 31 of my favorite villains.

The layouts where done by Anthony Castrillo which was set up by Jerry Livengood at Serendipity Art Sales.

From left to right:

Green Goblin
Deathstroke by David Finch
Harley Quinn
Joker by Mark Texeria
Maestro
Juggernaut
Doomsday
Cyborg Superman by Ivan Reis
Dr. Doom by Jim Cheung
Dark Phoenix
Thanos
Galactus
Mystique
Spiral
Solomon Grundy by Tim Sale
Bane by Jim Calafiore
Darkseid
Venom
Bizarro
Clayface
Evil Ernie by Joe Prado
Carnage by Clayton Crain
Nimrod
Taskmaster
Trigon by Keu Cha
Sabretooth by Tom Raney
Deadpool
Red Skull by Steve Epting
Judge Death by Simon Bisley
Magneto by Clay Mann
Ultron by Sean Chen

Got some larger scans of the separate pages on my CAF Gallery:

the layouts could have been done a while back, I mean it doesnt say when he got the layouts

Yes, that is true. And in fairness I looked at the original piece here

http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=885509&GSub=121707

Many of the parts were done in 2011, so AC must have done the layout a while back.

My mistake.

I can understand the frustration over being owed so much money for so much time, but watch out for implied threats. Good people get strikes for that kinda stuff.

Has anyone that's owed money considered going the PL route? These are board transactions. And even if a sketch opp might be a grey area (I personally don't see why they shouldn't be included as PL-worthy transactions), buying pre-sketched comics sounds like the kinda stuff that happens in the sales threads pretty regularly. I don't see why it wouldn't be PL worthy. And that PL discussion thread seems often to have the magic ability to fix screwed up transactions pretty quickly.

Absolutely right! trust me i would not fly to NY ... at all. Odds are i'm just going to write this off as a loss and move on. Damn shame though; really sad that this has happened to many of us on these boards...

Here's my history:

My PM to Anthony from 03/20/12 remains unread to this day, this is getting really frustrating. When I got on the boards I was thrilled to see the great comic book community especially The Signature Room with all the great sketch covers and opps. I spent entire week going through all 80+ pages of Anthony thread gazing at his art, I finally decided to drop him a PM regarding some sketch cover commissions. We exchanged a bunch of very friendly PMs, I asked whether he'd be willing to do 3 full color 'wraparounds'. I was thrilled when he responded and I quote "Sure,i dont see why i couldnt. " I sent him money right away - $920. IT WAS MY 1ST COMMISSION HERE!
So I commissioned (and paid for) my 3 pieces on 10th of FEBRUARY 2011, I was patiently waiting for updates from Anthony but after 2 moths I asked him what the progress was. He answered he'd have prelims for me shortly... on 05/13 I still haven't seen the prelims but Anthony offered me a sketch he have finished, I liked it so I decided to grab it as well - $150. Another month after that, same story I bought another finished piece - (need to dig up how much it was).
On 05/25/11 I got a message:
"Started pencils on your blanks. Thanks for being patient.
Ill post issues 2-4 cover homages next week."
I didn't get any pics so on 10/12/11 (5 moths later) I started asked him for updates, on 11/14/11 he wrote "Ill start scanning and posting.:)" nothing till this day...
If it wasn't for other great people here who handle their opps terrific and the turn around time is at least reasonable I'd definitely lose interest in this sketch cover hobby!
SUMMING UP:
- This was my 1st commission which I commissioned and paid for on 10th of FEBRUARY 2011, 1 year and 3 months ago!
- Although Anthony promised to show his progress he never did.
- Durring the time he was doing the pieces I bought 2 more already done sketches (never got them, they haven't been sent to CGC I suppose)
- 1 year 3 month, down $1100+, no info on the books whatsoever.
It's hard NOT to complain after such a long time and no info on about what's going on with your books and your money!

I understand that he had a tragedy in his family and it's hard to imagine what kind of hell he had to go through, it's only right he took some extra time to deal with it. Nonetheless I think it's time to get back to the people who invested a lot of money and give them at least an update about what the hell is going on.

I personally DO NOT want a refund I want the sketches I waited 1 year and 3 months for, in the quality that resembles taking so much time to finish them, not a rushed piece.

(there I said it, had to take it of my chest)

Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a full tally of who is owed what from Anthony, seems to be a lot worse then I imagined (though I probably shouldn't be surprised).
