gorgeous archies book. spine is amazingly nice, surprised to see that given the other small defects that are normally found in a read book.
Did you get a chance to see the graders notes and see why they gave it an off white to white grade?

It's amazing that there was both a Four Color 4 and Archie 1 in the same collection. The CGC census has only 15-20 copies of each issue which is abnormally low for books in this value range. Based on comparable books from the same period with known circulation figures, these two books can't have sold more than 150,000 copies each, probably less. To find these books in the same, relatively small collection is truly remarkable. The owner's father must have had very good taste and/or access to an excellent distributor.

If only someone had realized how much that little strip would be worth when they tore it off the back to mark their place in a book.
I think that's exactly what happened. Yea, Ouch!! Don't tell the OO.
