My first slab was a ASM #300 I bought off the rack... came back a 9.2 and I was pumped.

My first purchase was a PLOD 8.5 Brave and Bold 28.
My first submission was a Cap 109 I thought would get a 9.6 and came back a 6.5. I still have not fully recovered.

Here is my first slab. Still one of my favorite sketches I have ever seen.

My first slab was X-Men 94 in a 5.0, I bought it at a con and unfortunately overpaid.
I still have it.

My first submission (by proxy through my LCS) was an Iron Man vol1 #9. My first personal submission is a batch I'm patiently waiting on, which includes Avengers Annual 10, NM 98, Batman 612 (2nd), and my Fell 1 Retailer Incentive

My first bought slab was off Ebay and it was a Simpsons #1. I paid a stupid amount of money for it because I got over excited lol

My first submission was a few Secret invasions, Modern Hulks and some Hellboys. I learnt a hard lesson when these were graded. Some of them came back as 9.4's and 9.2's and one was an 8.5! I got excited when I saw a 9.6 though

I didn't look nearly as close as I should have at those books that I submitted. I've since gotten a lot more selective and much better at grading after being on these boards and my last 2 submissions have been 9.8's and 9.6's all the way.....

Four Color #178 from Ebay. While I'm formulating a bit of a strategy with which ones I try and look for that are CGC, sometimes the nicest copy I can find of something will just happen to be CGC. I would never buy a modern age comic like that, there doesn't seem to be any point.

1st submission:

Tales of Suspense # 83, which came back CGC 9.4 WHITE original copy from when I was a boy... I was pretty anal about no one touching it a few decades before I ever thought about serious collecting.

Can't recall the very 1st purchase of a CGC slab...might have to look that up via PayPal, or whatever records I have...

CAL who has lost a TON this week of lost data due to Excel crashing...
