Picked it this morning and just read it in about 8 minutes.

I didn't hate it but I wasn't excited by it at all...hardly anything happens to be excited about.

The artwork looked better in the b+w previews.

Meh.

Also it looked like my store ordered equal amounts of regular and pullbox variants...I went with regular because I liked the painted cover better.

Good point. Every advance review was at least 8 out of 10... most higher.

I was cautiously optimistic, but ultimately let down.

I'm sure at least SOME of those reviews are legit and not related to advertising dollars or selling books in their stores.

Its not the first time I've panned something that sells and is popular.

I didn't like the new 52 either.

This reads the same as that stuff.

Anyway, I'm going to wait to see issue 2 before I decide if I'll pick it up or not, but it isn't likely.

I'm interested to see Shadowman because that's my favorite old school Valiant book after XO.

If people like this more power to them. It just is not for me.
