Since the last one seemed to have gotten lost somewhere, perhaps it would be best to chart it's course first? Perhaps plan two or three cost to coast trips before even sending it out in case it makes it across country the first time. That way there is little confusion.

My grandfather did an experiment with US money like this in when I was a kid.
He sent me one US dollar taped outside to a envelope from California to Ma.
When I received the envelope the tape was still on,but the one dollar mysteriously disappeared. \:o
Again he then sent me a dollar worth of change inside an envelope from California to Ma, when I received the envelope only a penny was accounted for. Leaving just a penny for my thoughts.
