Well, I am certainly not going to be put in the position of defending this woman, but being the eternal optomist I see this as hopefully a way to help care for her brood. What the hell else can she do to support herself and 14 kids at this point? Who is going to hire her? What are her qualifications to go out in the workforce? And if she did find work, how much will daycare cost for 14 toddlers?

I suppose she could find a rich man to marry, but seriously who would marry this woman with 14 kids?

Too true. She went out of her way to screw up her life. Let's just hope she doesn't take her kids down with her.

Was any action ever taken against the physician that facilitated the production of these eight babies?

By that I mean an inquiry by the AMA or whatever the appropriate professional body is, because she could not be in this predicament without "fertility assistance".

This is the last thing I heard (as of June 1, 2011): Nadya Suleman's doctor loses California medical license

Nadya Suleman's doctor loses California medical license
June 01, 2011 | By Alan Duke, CNN

The California fertility doctor who implanted a dozen embryos in Nadya Suleman, resulting in the birth of eight babies, will lose his medical license on July 1, state officials said.

The California Medical Board ruled that Dr. Michael Kamrava committed "gross negligence" with "repeated negligent acts, for an excessive number of embryo transfers" into Suleman in 2008.

Suleman -- known in the media as "Octomom" -- was 33 when she gave birth to eight babies in January 2009. She was a single woman who already had six young children conceived through in-vitro fertilization administered by Kamrava.

------------------------------
Oh wait, there's more... Thanks Google.... This is from Jan. 29, 2012:

Michael Kamrava, Octomom Nadya Suleman's Fertility Doctor, Files for Bankruptcy

Michael Kamrava, Octomom Nadya Suleman's Fertility Doctor, Files for Bankruptcy

Michael Kamrava, the Beverly Hills fertility doctor who lost his medical license last year partly due to his controversial treatment of Octomom Nadya Suleman of La Habra, has reportedly filed for bankruptcy.

TMZ cites Chapter 7 papers Kamrava filed that claim "he has only $17,628 in assets . . . and a staggering $1.2 million in debts."

Suleman was the first mother to gave birth to surviving octuplets in January 2009, but that brought great public scorn when it was discovered she was single, unemployed and already had six children. It didn't help matters when Octomom seemed more hellbent on becoming a celebrity than a good mother.

Meanwhile, a California Medical Board case was built against Kamrava, who implanted 12 embryos in Suleman at once, despite her obviously being an unstable candidate for multiple births with such a large family already. Experts agree Suleman should have been steered to counseling.

The physician's treatment of an older woman who also went on to deliver multiple babies was also cited by the board in revoking Kamrava's license in July. He's tried and failed through court to get it back. Suleman, who initially supported her doctor's fight to keep his license, has of late accused him of mistreating her.

His assets include three computers and a printer ($800), furniture ($5,000), kitchen appliances ($3,000), and medical books ($300), according to TMZ, which lists among his "endless" creditors credit cad companies ($20,000), the car loan holder on his BMW ($40,000), his office landlord ($850,000) and tax collectors ($60,000).

-----------------------------------------

He seems to still be practicing, only the "Dr." has been removed from his name. This page highlights him as a specialist at a Beverly Hills fertility clinic.

Google? What is this Google of which you speak lol

It is little wonder he's filing for bankruptcy, I mean Nadya couldn't have been much of a cash cow for him - I suppose he treated her just for the notoriety cachet.

Thanks for the info - at least he was held responsible for his actions. I'd like to see him assume some financial responsibility for this excess of children, but I think that might open up a whole other can of legal worms in terms of precedents.
