Are those poison-arrows? How do you handle them? Do you have to wear gloves or are they only toxic if you get into bloodstream?
They are indeed! Dendrobates tinctorius var. Patricia . They're only poisonous in their native habitat, though, where they typically eat a species of termite that in turn produces the toxin they secrete. They rarely get handled, as the largest I have isn't much bigger than a thumbnail, I'm afraid of hurting them! They're very active and extremely noisy for such small things... Loud enough that they can drown out the native peepers!
