One of the oddest characteristics of a bull moose is the presence of the dewlap, also known as the bell. The dewlap is the flap of skin that hangs down under a moose's chin. The function of the dewlap is yet unknown, but there are theories for it's existence. One theory is that the dewlap is used for communication during the rut, both by sight and that of smell. During the annual rut, a bull moose will rub the cow with his chin, also called chinning, and the dewlap transfers the bull's scent onto the female. Another theory is that the size and shape of the dewlap may be an indicator of dominance to other bulls, just like the size of his newly formed antlers.

Bullwinkle J. Moose was born without one.

There are lots of small fish that can become sardines. There’s really no official species that qualifies, until it gets close to the can. Sardines can be herrings, round herrings, pilchards, sprats and many other kinds of fish. The only defining characteristic of sardines is size, they must be under 4 inches in length, that’s it.

Sank and Sunk have always given me troubles. I read in an English book that the rule is people "sank" but inanimate things "sunk". Always confused me. Kinda like "hung" and "hanged".

Also note worthy, the oil in the sardine can is worth more than the actual fish inside...so sop that stuff up with some semi-stale French bread.

Point of etiquette: It is not advisable to consume a can of sardines just prior to a first date, that is unless she's a kitten.
