Most are below GPA and one was an absolute steal...

Hell, I'll nab a Strange Tales 8.5 12 center all day long for $27!!!!

I'm all about the Magnus here lately!

I had a ball...

Good score Wally.

I didn't win a whole lot yesterday, and this month's C-link bill is going to be almost as paltry as last month's (so far, I've won only four books, all under $1k), but what I did win, I won cheap.

Perhaps that's really the lesson to be learned in this era of thousands and thousands of auction items every month: get it on the cheap, because unless its a genuinely scarce item, chances are you'll have your shot again soon to find something comparable.

You have a perfectly good custom title. There are children in (random economically under developed country name) that would LOVE to have your custom title.

That's solid words of wisdom right there.

I can't count how many times I forgot that very basic principle.

Used to be mine. Glad you got it for a good price (I wasn't the consignor though).

Overall, a very "yeah-whatever" type of auction. meh

Nothing really great, just a filler before the "big show" again next month. BTW, who the heck is ready for another round of major auctions next month? Pedigree, Heritage Signature, Comiclink Featured, its enough to drive a man broke.

Perhaps I should actually sell some of the stuff I buy....maybe THEN I can pay for more!

I rarely even bid in auction anymore, but even I am fatigued! I never consign to big summer auctions....simply too much competition out there with major cons, etc. It seems to be a better bet to auction books during slower months like October or February.

Ended at $2600. I do know that this is a book that is rarer than unicorns in high grade !
There has been a board member that has been looking for this book for years. Hopefully he got it.

One thing you can bet on is more of these will surface.

1970 isn't that long ago for their only to be only three 9.2's on the very top of the census.

I for one would love more to show up, this book has been incredibly hard to find in HG. I think it could be some time before more show up, more than a few folks have been actively looking for this (even some reward money for 9.6+ copies) and still nothing. But it will probably turn out like GL76, once the money is worth it, the UHG copies come out.
