Hey everyone,
I would like to get some thoughts about something Greedo and I were talking about, and has been mentioned in some threads before.
Right now the rules prohibit multiple book sketches from being entered. Some of us have a sketch that spans 2-5 books which some characters on one and some on others and the rules are set up in such a way that cuts out the art if it's on more then one book.
I agree with this. The example that Greedo and I talked about was Eton's Xmen books and Magneto. If we did a best Magneto sketch, should Eton be allowed to Enter all of his books in the Magneto contest? Where would you limit something like this? Because of that, the Magneto book has to stand on it's own without the other books to support it.
The solution to that has been to later on do a " Best Of " multiple books category. Which is fine, but I was thinking about doing it a little bit differently. Why not on Team books allow someone to enter a multiple book entry? When you look at something like Avengers or Xmen, it is really hard to fit a large team of 3+ onto one cover without losing something. This is why some of us have it done on multiple books, similar to the way a wraparound is used for more cover space. For team books only, why not allow multiple books? I think Adonis's Jose Jaro Avengers should be able to compete in the Best Avengers sketch.
Obviously if it was three separate books put next to each other, then that's different but if its the same piece or art, why not?
Thoughts? Vote-worthy to see what everyone thinks?
